Are Prescription Sunnies a Must-Have?

Blog

Prescription eyewear is typically associated with spectacles. Hence, when it comes to protective eyewear to guard against Aussie's harsh sun, most people tend to think that having contact lenses on means they should just wear normal sunglasses. Alternatively, if you exclusively wear spectacles, then you may have the variety that comes with dark lenses that you can clip onto them. When it comes to convenience, however, you will find prescription sunglasses a much better option than the two above mentioned. If you have never considered prescription sunglasses before, here are some reasons why you should purchase these types of sunnies.

Prescription sunglasses will keep your eyes protected

When the sun is shining at its brightest, it can be incredibly straining to your eyes. And if you will be spending most of your time at the beach or by a pool, especially during the summer, then wearing your contact lenses the entire time will cause irritation to your eyes due to salt water and chlorine. Prescription sunglasses can provide you with a quick fix to this problem. Whenever you want to take a dip in the water, all you need to do is take off the eyewear rather than constantly struggling with your contact lenses. Furthermore, prescription sunnies will also provide you with ultraviolet protection from the sun's rays, unlike regular sunglasses, which have minimal UV protection.

Prescription sunglasses will keep you safe when driving

Another reason why prescription sunnies will be highly functional for your day-to-day life is the safety they offer you when you are on the road. For instance, if you forget your contact lenses at home and only have a pair of sunglasses, your vision will be compromised and you may be a danger to yourself and other drivers. On the other hand, you may have your contact lenses on but have forgotten to carry a pair of sunnies, which means your visibility could be distorted from the sunlight! The great thing about prescription sunglasses is that one you get into the habit of wearing them outside, it is unlikely that you will leave them behind. In fact, keeping these prescription sunnies in your car will guarantee that your vision remains intact each time you want to go somewhere!

Prescription sunglasses will suit your style

Prescription eyewear was previously thought of as unfashionable decades past In fact, a good number of people would associate prescription eyewear with chunky frames and thick lenses that were nowhere near being attractive. But this is not the case anymore. Regardless of your own personal sense of style, you are assured to find prescription sunglass that will match your preference, be it sleek, contemporary frames to suit modernist apparel or whimsical sunglasses to match your bohemian chic look!

Maintaining Your Eye Health

If you want to maintain your eye health, it is really important that you have regular check-ups with an optometrist. An optometrist will perform a number of different tests on your eyes. Because I didn't need glasses, I didn't think I had to go to an eye doctor. However, my wife suggested that I book an appointment for a check-up. I did so and I am so pleased I did. It turns out that I had a problem with my eyes which could cause blindness if left untreated. Thankfully, we caught it early enough so I am now fully recovered. I hope this blog helps you to look after your vision.
